Final Recommendations for 2023 Review of UK Parliament Constituencies Published
The Boundary Commission for Scotland released its final proposals on Wednesday. These will be the boundaries that will be used at the next Westminster election due no later than 28 January 2025. Renfrewshire will now be covered overall by three different constituencies compared to the previous two.
This is due to the existing Inverclyde consitutency now becoming Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West with it now including Houston, Crosslee, and Bridge of Weir. Paisley & Renfrewshire North and Paisley & Renfrewshire South keep their same names but with changes.
Overall the main changes as compared to the current boundaries are:
- Addition of Cardonald and Crookston to Paisley & Renfrewshire North.
- Moving of part of Seedhill from Paisley & Renfrewshire South into Paisley & Renfrewshire North.
- Moving of Linwood and Brookfield from Paisley & Renfrewshire North to Paisley & Renfrewshire South.
- Moving of Houston, Crosslee, and Bridge of Weir into Inverclyde & Renfrewshire West.
