Lib Dems ensure local complex needs college stays open

Scottish Liberal Democrats have secured the short-term future for the Corseford College, Scotland’s only complex needs college, which was threatened with closure. This had been met with delight by the local Lib Dems in Renfrewshire.

Without this college, students would miss out on vital opportunities for learning and social interaction because mainstream colleges just aren’t in a position to deliver what these young people need.

Renfrewshire Liberal Democrat campaigner Grant Toghill said: 

“Delighted to see that Scottish Liberal Democrats secure funding for Corseford College in Renfrewshire. It was a key priority for our MSPs and one of the many wins we got in the budget.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats would not stand by and see young people with complex disabilities lose access to learning.”
