On Friday, 24th January, the Scottish Boundary Commission released its latest proposals for the Scottish Parliament. The changes include Langbank as part of the new Renfrewshire North and Cardonald constituency.

The most significant change occurred in the regional allocation, where Renfrewshire North and Cardonald, initially placed in the Glasgow region in previous proposals, reverted to West Scotland in the revised proposals.

Grant Toghill, a campaigner for the Renfrewshire Liberal Democrats, stated:

“I am pleased that the Boundary Commission has listened to local concerns, and that these latest proposals for the Scottish Parliament keep all of Renfrewshire in the West Scotland region.

“Keeping Renfrew, Erskine, and Bishopton within West Scotland, rather than putting them into Glasgow, will ensure our communities are represented properly.
